Meet Some of Our Team
ROB SARGENT, Clean Energy Program Director
For more than three decades, Rob has led a series of campaigns that have reduced our nation’s carbon pollution, spurred the development of solar and wind power in dozens of states, and improved the fuel economy of our cars. Currently, he oversees our clean energy program, including campaigns to put America on a path to 100% renewable energy.
JOHN RUMPLER, Senior Attorney
John has run successful campaigns to restore the Chesapeake Bay, halt the expansion of offshore oil drilling in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon spill, and protect the Grand Canyon from toxic mining. His current efforts include overseeing our clean water and anti-fracking programs.
BRET FANSHAW, Go Solar Campaign Coordinator
Bret coordinates field and advocacy efforts for our Go Solar campaign. Prior to this role, Bret served for five years as an associate and then director of Environment Arizona. During that time, he successfully campaigned to stop new uranium mining around the Grand Canyon, passed local goals for clean energy, and led efforts to double the organization’s in-state membership.
BRONTE PAYNE, Clean Energy Advocate
Bronte directs Environment America's campaign to get colleges and universities to commit to using 100 percent renewable energy. Bronte has co-authored a number of reports, including “Turning to the Wind” and “Renewable Energy 100: A Course to a Carbon-Free Campus.” Bronte has worked on successful campaigns to renew federal tax incentives for wind and solar energy and to move Cornell University towards 100 percent renewable energy.
DAVID MASUR, Executive Director, PennEnvironment
David spearheads the issue advocacy and civic engagement campaigns, as well as the long-term organizational building and development for PennEnvironment. He also oversees PennPIRG and other organizations within The Public Interest Network that are engaged in social change across Pennsylvania. David’s areas of expertise include fracking, global warming, environmental enforcement and litigation, and clean energy and land use policy in Pennsylvania.
SANDERS MOORE, Director, Environment New Mexico
Sanders led the campaign to get the City of Albuquerque to commit to get 25% of its electricity from solar by 2025, which passed the City Council unanimously. Sanders also led the grassroots efforts to demonstrate strong local support for the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument, including gathering 11,000 petitions, generating opinion and social media coverage, and engaging college students in the campaign. Sanders has been published in the Albuquerque Journal, Santa Fe New Mexican, KSFR, KRWG, and other state media outlets.
